| Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: What
is an estimate?
A: An estimate is a written quote of the approximate repair costs
based on visible damage to your vehicle. An estimate can be done
by a repair shop estimator or an insurance appraiser. Please note
that an estimate is based only on visible damage,
and further damage may be discovered after the repairs begin. Any
additional repair necessary could result in a higher repair charge
for your vehicle. The shop should notify you of additional damage.
Q: How many
estimates do I need?
A: Although many insurance companies recommend 2-3 estimates, only
one is required. If you choose to receive only one estimate, it
should be from the auto body repair shop that you wish to have your
vehicle repaired at.
Q: What
are aftermarket parts?
A: Aftermarket parts are made by
someone other than the vehicle manufacturer. These parts do not
have to meet the same specifications as original parts do. Aftermarket
parts are also known as non-OEM parts, imitation parts, or quality
replacement parts.
Q: How long
does it take to repair my vehicle?
A: Depending on the amount of damage your vehicle has sustained,
and the availabiliy of parts, the amount of time to complete the
restoration will vary. The auto body shop will be able to give you
an approximate time that will be needed when you receive your estimate.
Q: Do I
need an appointment for an estimate?
A: For your convenience, it is better that you schedule an appointment,
as we can set aside time to discuss the repairs for your vehicle
and answer any questions you might have in person. Please use our
online appointment scheduling or call 505-889-9669.
